Our mission is to move our guests towards health and happiness through a structured program and a supportive environment. Our passion is our guests; taking care of them while they’re here and making sure they have the proper knowledge and motivation to take care of themselves when they return home.
Movara is located in the beautiful, red-rock, high desert of Southern Utah, and we use this magnificent backdrop to our full advantage. Hiking is an integral part of our fitness program. Guests begin each day with a hike lasting anywhere from 2 to 2 ½ hours before returning to the resort to participate in a number of fitness classes, attend a lecture series, and enjoy delicious and healthy cuisine.
At Movara, we believe that it is never too late to live a healthier lifestyle. We accommodate all ages, sizes and abilities and help them find success. We attribute this not only to our fitness program, but also to the support each guest receives from our trainers, nutrition staff and each other. The beauty of Movara is that we provide a safe, judgment-free and stress-free environment. This provides guests the opportunity to solely focus on their health and their personal fitness goals.
Tami has been training for 52 Peaks at Movara over numerous weeks since November 2015. Tami and TJ will be training again in Movara the weeks of April 10th and May 15th and encourage you to join them in starting or continuing your own journey towards wellness. 52 Peaks will be hiking two peaks in Zion in November and participating in the Movara program the week of Nov 6th. Sign up today to hike with Tami and TJ on their Utah peaks.
Sierra Mountaineering Club (“SMC”) is a 501(c)7 not-for-profit social and recreational organization. Our mission is to be a community where people connect, learn and climb together. We are not a professional or licensed guide service, but a traditional mountaineering club such as the historic Sierra Club.
As a modern mountaineering club built by and for recreational climbers, we offer many free events open to the public. These include free club outings for the public to climb and enjoy the high peaks, free presentations on mountaineering topics, and free social events for club members and guests. We also offer paid evening core skills seminars and paid training events in general mountaineering, rock, snow, and ice climbing for paid members.
SMC is led by a Board of Directors who manage all club activities, finances, and operations through SMC officers and dedicated outing leaders. All outing leaders are unpaid volunteers and are chosen by the Board to maintain a broad range of free club outings, paid training events, and other activities for SMC members and guests year-round. SMC is headquartered in Sacramento but has members in many states and currently holds events in all of California and the western US.
You are at the official SMC website. We also use Meetup.com and Facebook to help our community stay connected. All outings, events, seminars and activities are centrally managed here at the official website http://www.sierramountaineeringclub.org.
TJ and Tami are both members of SMC and TJ is an event leader. Tami and TJ have attended numerous classes for snow, ice and climbing to better prepare for 52 Peaks.

For a brand that started out as an industrial-grade awning fabric in only six colors, Sunbrella fabrics have come a long way. From awnings to marine to casual furniture, Sunbrella fabrics have led the industry with extensive styles and colors while providing unparalleled performance. In the early 1990s Sunbrella unveiled its softer side with stunning fabrics targeted at the interior design trade and now available in design showrooms across the country. Today, Sunbrella is used in a variety of innovative new products that offer creative solutions for consumers and the design community.
Our continued focus on innovations in sustainable fabrics led to the development of the Sunbrella Renaissance line. Renaissance yarns are produced from reclaimed fiber, yarn and fabric waste and then used for new Sunbrella products like Sunbrella Renaissance Rugs for indoor and outdoor use as well as a new line of upholstery fabrics anchored by the award winning Heritage fabric available in 12 beautiful colors. Both of these new products combine 50% recycled content with 50% virgin fiber to ensure the performance that you’ve come to expect from Sunbrella.
