Why This Mountain?
I chose this peak because I have always wanted to go to Death Valley National Park.

The peak was named after it was once said that “you could see no further with a telescope.” Telecope peak is 11,043 ft and it is the highest peak in Death Valley National Park. It raises 11,300 feet above Badwater (-282) which is the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere. Badwater is known for the Badwater Ultra Marathon, the toughest footrace “offered anywhere on the planet.”
